We have an opportunity for an experienced Business Analysts to join our IT Project Team.

Our ideal candidate:

*         Educational Background: A degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.

*         Experience: Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the retail sector. Experience with data analysis, project management, and process optimization.

*         Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analytics tools (such as Excel, SQL, or PowerBI) and familiarity with retail software systems. Understanding of project management methodologies is also beneficial.

*         Analytical Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.

*         Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate findings, facilitate discussions, and collaborate with various stakeholders.

*         Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

*         Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and across different departments.

Main role responsibilities include:

  • Get into the detail of each business requirement. Document and quantify. Eliminate ambiguity and uncover the missing pieces from every requirement.
  • Use a set of tools and templates to clearly describe how business processes currently work, and how the business needs them to change in support of a business objective.
  • Although we use a tool kit, you can also use imagination if the tools don’t fit to come up with formats and metrics to make sure every aspect of the business process is understood, documented and agreed with the people on the ground.

*         Run workshops with business experts and use process maps to clarify how we do what we do as a business

*         Consult with colleagues in the IT team to get clarifications about how systems work and what the potential solutions for business problems are.

*         Help ensure UAT runs smoothly. Sometimes to supervise UAT and help the users define their test cases.

*         Work with the development team who can come back for clarification on business requirements. If you don’t have the answers, you will go back to the business community to get them

 
 

  • Build and maintain comprehensive process related documentation – process flow definition, associated roles, business application transactions and key test scenarios
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Woodie’s business applications – Business Central, Magento, etc.
  • Research relevant industry “standard methodology” processes and understand how they map to our environment
  • Document emerging business requirements and align to our business application architecture, identify the functional gaps
  • Participate in projects to enable new functionality through innovative use of existing applications or by crafting new capabilities
  • Facilitate the business identifying how process and/or technology changes impact colleagues’ roles and what training is required
  • Facilitate training of users impacted by new technology and test that it’s fit for purpose
