Selco Rising Stars : Gold Star Management Training Programme

Nationally recognised Level 4 Award

We are committed to providing our colleagues with a genuine career path which provides the skills, techniques and self-development required to become our future Branch General Managers.

Duration:

18 months

Progression:

The Gold Star Management Training programme is a great way to boost career and promotion prospects and equip you with the tools required to become a Manager of the future. This programme is aimed at Deputy Managers looking to make the step up to Branch General Manager

Delivery and Support:

You will work with a dedicated Trainer who will support you through online sessions, workbooks and eLearning.

Mandatory Assisted Training:

20% of the Training will be carried out carrying out tasks out with the comfort zone of your normal role. This equates to about 30 hours per month, some of which will be in formal sessions with your Trainer.   This includes elearning, job shadowing other roles, a mixture of assignments and project work.  It’s important that you keep up to date and record these hours which will be checked by your Manager and Trainer.

Commitment:

You’ll need to be self-motivated, be IT literate with access to an email address and have the ability to use your knowledge and be able to analyse information.  It’ll all be worth it though as this is a great opportunity to take the next steps towards promotion. You will need to keep a diary of your work and development on a weekly basis and there will be a requirement to analyse and prepare project work and assignments.

Maths & English:

As part of the application process, you’ll be given a short test in basic Maths and English.  This is a part of the levy funding requirements, but don’t worry.  We’ll help you through this as much as we can. If you already have Maths & English at Grade C or above at GCSE and have your certificates.  You may be exempt from completing further mandatory study in these areas.  You’ll be asked to complete a short online test and produce a written submission prior to being invited to an Information Day.

Application process:

Please speak to your Branch Manager before applying and then complete the online application.
