Sales Representative - Waterford

Part of Grafton Group Plc, Chadwicks Group is the market leader in the builder’s merchanting industry in the Republic of Ireland. The core business is through the traditional Builders Merchants division. Main brands include Chadwicks, Cork Builders Providers, Davies & Telfords.  In addition, and through organic growth and acquisitions the Group have established a range of brands which are close to the core but offer a uniquely different range of products.  These include Heitons Steel, Panelling Centre, Morgans Timber, Proline & Sitetech.

 

Principle Objective

The role of Sales Representative within our Steel Division is key to the development of new business from the construction & engineering markets while also providing a superior standard of customer care to our existing customers. Reporting to the Director of Steel this role will be based in our head office while covering your own sales territory. A company car will be provided.

 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven sales experience within the steel industry is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of steel and steel products
  • Experience of developing new business
  • Excellent account management and customer service experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and update knowledge of existing and new products within the market
  • Deliver a superior standard of customer service to all customers
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Build on existing relationships to encourage repeat business with customers
  • Manage projects from beginning to close once contracts are sealed
  • Maximising sales and profitability for the company
  • Successful territory planning to maximise coverage for the region
  • Pursue payment of overdue customer debts
  • Margin Management
  • Potential to work on tenders for both large and small deals in the public and private sector as and when required

Contract Type

  • Permanent
  • Full time 39 hour contract
  • Working week Monday to Friday, may be required to take part in the Saturday roster
