Sales Director

Part of Grafton Group Plc, Chadwicks Group is the market leader in the builder’s merchanting industry in the Republic of Ireland. The core business is through the traditional Builders Merchants division. Main brands include Chadwicks, Cork Builders Providers, Davies & Telfords. Sitetech is Ireland’s leading supplier of concrete and brickwork accessories to all of Ireland’s premier construction companies. Principle Objective 

The Sales Director role reports to the Managing Director of Sitetech and is responsible for engaging with, and growing existing key accounts and potential key account opportunities in line with company sales objectives. The Sales Director plays a crucial role in developing and implementing strategic plans for account growth and these strategies are designed to enhance customer relationships, increase market share, and ensure the company's competitive advantage in the concrete and masonry accessories sector. The Sales Director also collaborates with the Operations and Regional teams across the Island to facilitate business planning and foster strong relationships with our key accounts.

 

Knowledge & Experience 

  • An experienced strategic business leader in a comparable role, preferably with sector knowledge or within general construction sales
  • Proven experience (6+ Years) in strategic sales, or key account management, with a focus on leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies, practices, and tools as well as a solid understanding of market dynamics.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving sales & margin growth and favorable contract terms.
  • Experience in managing relationships, conducting customer performance evaluations, and driving sales development initiatives.
  • Proficiency in CRM technologies and systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team to ensure we meet the needs of our customers
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate with external stakeholders at all levels.

 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with the key personnel of key account customers to ensure we understand and meet their current and future hire needs
  • Manage and develop the key account manager team across the Island
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure we meet all customer requirements
  • Drive revenue growth from existing accounts and identify, engage with and grow through negotiation, new key accounts
  • Conduct regular assessments of the market needs and competition’s capability relating to project specification and support, providing alternative tactics, solutions and support.
  • Responsible for a personal contribution towards the introduction of new products providing idea generation, market research and development, testing and evaluation activities.
  • Responsible for the preparation of short/mid/long term project and sales forecasts.
  • Contribute towards the preparation of the annual budgets and the long-range planning process (5 year plan) to ensure the Project Specification, KAM and Sales function and objectives are represented.

Key Performance Measures 

  • Increase in Key Account Growth – Measure the percentage increase in sales from existing key accounts over a specific period.
  • New Key Account Acquisition – Track the number of new key accounts acquired in line with company sales objectives.
  • Sales Team Performance – Evaluate the achievement of sales and margin budgets across the regions, indicating effective leadership and team management.
  • Market Assessment Frequency – Monitor the regularity of market needs and competition assessments to ensure proactive strategic planning.
  • CRM Utilisation – Measure the effective use of CRM for daily team activity management, communication, and performance reporting.
