The Job

This is a new position and will have ‘Head Of’ status in the Selco organization. It is part of our 5 year plan to give more focus to lightside products and support the growing Selco estate. Going forward we will also be looking at the development of a Selco own brand and source directly from low cost countries. The candidate will be expected to bring experience in these areas and have a hands on role in the development of these initiatives.

The successful candidate will be looking after the following areas of the business:

  • Hand Tools
  • Power Tools
  • Builder’s Equipment
  • Ironmongery
  • Door Furniture
  • Painting and Decorating
  • Electrical and lighting
  • Plumbing
  • Adhesives and sealants

The role will involve the usual Category Management/Buying functions:

  • Management of Category Managers
  • Negotiation and management of trading agreements.
  • Managing lightside promotional activity.
  • Supporting the Grafton sustainability initiative.
  • Working with the space planning team to maximise merchandising benefits.
  • Implementing new product initiatives and managing exit plans.
  • Supporting Web Site data requirements.

You

An experienced senior category manager/category manager preferably within the builders merchant industry.
