Deputy Warehouse Manager

Leyland SDM specialises in paint, tools, plumbing, electrical, woodwork & DIY materials. We have 33 high street stores across London, supported by our central support team and distribution centre in Wembley. We are currently on an exciting journey and have some very ambitious growth plans. 

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Warehouse Manager to join our friendly, hard-working team of 50 colleagues in our busy Wembley warehouse. Alongside the Warehouse Manager, and supported by a team of supervisors you will be responsible for managing the entire warehouse operation.

As the Deputy Warehouse Manager what will you be responsible for?

• Supporting the Warehouse Manager with the day to day running of the warehouse

• Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the warehouse

• Motivating, coaching, and encouraging team spirit within the warehouse

• Leading the team in the absence of the Warehouse Manager

• Working with the Warehouse Manager to develop the ways of working to support the future growth of Leyland SDM

What skills and experience are you looking for?

• Experience of all functions across warehouse operations

• Experience of running a team of 25+ colleagues with people management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people

• Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills

• The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

• Team player, willing to be a hands on manager in a physically demanding environment
