Steel Department Manager
Part of Grafton Group Plc, The Chadwick's Group is the market leader in the builder's merchanting industry in the Republic of Ireland. Main brands include Chadwick's, Heiton Buckley, Sam Hire, Cork Builders Providers, Panelling Centre, Davies & Telfords.
Principle Objective
As Steel Department Manager you will manage all aspects of the Steel Departments operation in your branch. Key to the role is driving sales of all products, developing new business and servicing our existing customer base while also ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.
Knowledge & Experience
- Substantial experience working within the Steel or Building Materials Industry
- Strong commercial and strategic acumen
- Ability to reach and exceed sales targets
- Health and Safety compliance experience
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee purchasing, stock levels, and departmental margins
- Drive sales performance and achieve margin targets
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Deliver high standards of customer service
- Train and support team members to meet service expectations
- Conduct regular stock checks and manage departmental assets
- Contribute to strategic planning in collaboration with senior management
- Foster a clean, safe, and secure working environment
- Ensure full adherence to all company policies

Contract Type
- Permanent full time
- Full time 39-hour contract
- Working week: Monday - Friday & Saturday roster
- Location: Cork Rd, Ballynaneashagh, Waterford, X91 NRP0
