Role Overview

As the Building Materials Department Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the department, driving sales, managing stock levels, and ensuring excellent customer service. You’ll focus on business development, team management, and operational efficiency while maintaining health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive sales and achieve margin targets.
• Manage stock levels, purchasing, and department development.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Train and support employees to enhance customer service.
• Oversee department strategy and contribute to business planning.
• Maintain a clean, secure, and efficient working environment.

Skills & Experience

• Strong background in the building materials industry.
• Commercial awareness and ability to meet sales targets.
• Experience in people management (preferred).
• Health & Safety compliance knowledge.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
• IT literacy and data analysis capabilities.
