HR Manager

Part of Grafton Group Plc, Chadwicks Group is the market leader in the builder’s merchanting industry in the Republic of Ireland. Main brands include Chadwicks, Heiton Buckley, Cork Builders Providers, Panelling Centre, Davies & Telfords.  The Chadwicks Group currently employs approximately 1,400 colleagues in over 50 locations.

 

Principle Objective

Reporting to the HR Director, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the ER/IR agenda for the business.

 

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5 -7 years’ HR experience preferably within a multi-site location
  • Third level qualification in HR/IR/ER; or equivalent CIPD qualification desirable
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Irish employment law
  • Demonstrable experience in Employee Relations specifically consultation and union negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify areas for improvement within the HR function and develop new efficiencies to support the business.
  • Proactively source new development opportunities for yourself to ensure you are kept up to date with the most recent industry and legislative advances.
  • Support the HR People Agenda including being a driver of engagement through management and analysis of our internal engagement survey.
  • Lead and inspire the HR team to deliver and excel on areas defined in our HR Business Plan.
  • Support and coach management teams to deliver consistent and fair procedures in relation to industrial/ employee relations.
  • Coach and support HR team on employee relations issues for their specific branches/region.
  • Management and reporting of HR KPI’s on a monthly basis.
  • Updating Company policies and procedures when required.
  • Ensure we have a clear recruitment process supporting the aim of becoming an employer of choice.
  • Work closely with the HR Director to set, review and monitor the HR/ER annual budgets.
  • Be the point of contact for Regional Directors and Branch Managers to support Chadwicks people agenda
  • Communicate and respond to colleague queries in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Prepare reports for management and leadership team when required.
  • Ensure we give down to earth, straight forward advice and support to all management teams and colleagues.
  • Work closely with external suppliers to ensure we have competitive benefits packages for our business and colleagues.
  • Develop and support the HR team to coach and feedback on leadership development.
  • Approach challenges with a ‘can do’ attitude displaying resilience and enthusiasm in your role.
