Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities for this role

 

Suppliers and Products Categories

  • Identification of product categories and suppliers that can deliver incremental sales and margin for TG Lynes
  • To establish strategies for the key product categories and suppliers
  • To build strong relationships with suppliers and continue the reputation of TG Lynes as a business who always deliver on their promises
  • To ensure that the needs of internal and external sales teams are met when working with suppliers and setting category strategies
  • To ensure all strategies are delivered operationally

Marketing

  • To ensure the needs of the customer are considered at all times
  • To understand the marketing plan and apply good marketing practices at all times
  • To ensure all marketing channels are maximised
  • To ensure there is a balance between strategic and tactical marketing
  • To understand what the competition are doing in the market

Pricing

  • To contribute to the pricing strategy
  • To continue to develop control over branch margin
  • To ensure pricing is considered as part of all product/category reviews 

Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Skills

 

Essential

  • Previous experience at managing a team
  • Strong track record at operating within a business leadership team.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, negotiating Commercial Agreements
  • High involvement and good relationships with new and existing & existing suppliers
  • The ability to think strategically as well as tactically
  • Able to work in a matric management environment with colleagues within the business as well as outside where necessary.
  • The ability to engage and motivate people, to get the best out of them
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Previous experience in strategic planning both short and long term
  • Good track record in delivering strategic partnerships with suppliers

Nice to have

  • A background in Sales  

  • Financial, purchasing and procurement experience 

  • Experience in collating and managing large data files 

  • A detailed understanding of matrices and excel files
