We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Category Manager for our DIY department in our Support Office reporting to the Category Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing category plans and strategies to improve product sales & monthly promotions to achieve budgeted sales, margin and waste targets.
  • Assist Category Manager in the selection, pricing and positioning of product ranges.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across each of our departments, as well as external supplier partners
  • Frequently visiting our stores to understand & improve our customer proposition.
  • Collaborating with suppliers on product ranges, promotions and to agree commercial terms.
  • Responsible for the development of other team members through inspirational Coaching & Mentoring.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has great commercial acumen to support increased growth within the category
  • Contributes positively to an excellent team culture
  • Adept at identifying, forecasting and taking advantage of market trends.
  • Commercial experience and proven record of analysing sales & margins to deliver sales budgets.
  • Experience in running product life cycles & range changes with minimum waste
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external partners
